With all the bad news about the Toyota recently, it’s now time for doing something a bit more positive. Toyota is in the process of organizing a task force of numerous hundred blocks in Priuses in Japan, Asia and North America. Of the 200 Prius PHEVs is intended for Europe and two are headed for the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Toyota Norge has reached a contract to supply the plug-in mixture for about three year field test. The city of Oslo and trade group Energy of Norway will run the test program together to estimate the real world presentation as well as driver opinion about the cars.

The vehicle handling tracking system will look at the effectiveness of the PHEVs as well as how commonly and where drivers plug in them. Getting any benefit out of a plug in mixes needs that the drivers keep the battery charged as much as possible in order to allow the electric driving. If the car is not charged at every point, it will not at all perform any better than an extensively less expensive non plug hybrid. The models of the cars will be delivered to Oslo in June 2010.
